About UBWANA Uganda
UBWANA is a Gisu word meaning “children.” UBWANA Uganda is a hybrid organization operating both as a non-governmental organization (NGO) and a social enterprise, with both non-profit and profit-oriented components. The organization is committed to promoting social protection, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable populations across Uganda.
UBWANA Uganda primarily supports women and youth, offering access to small, low-interest loans and entrepreneurial training. These services enable beneficiaries to start and grow sustainable income-generating activities, improve their household livelihoods, and provide better care and well-being for their children and communities. Profits generated from enterprise activities are reinvested to support community development and expand outreach programs.

On our outreaches, we have managed to extend support to children in various schools in form of nutrition support.

At Ubwana, we support children’s education through outreaches to schools and communities by offering guidance and material support to some of the schools. We believe that education is the key to breaking various social cycles and for building of a sustainable future generation

UBWANA Uganda’s efforts are most drawn towards fighting the problem of children rights abuse. UBWANA Uganda will achieve thisthrough raising awareness on the problems related to children’s rights abuse, empowering children and communities as well as advocating for child friendly laws, policiesand programs to comprehensively address the continous abuse of children rights
